Status Update: Extension of Transitional Plans

Recent federal guidance permits states to extend transitional policies for individual and small group health insurance plans to policy years beginning on or before October 1, 2018, provided that all policies end by December 31, 2018.

Iowa

We are extending our Iowa small group transitional plans through 2018 after the Iowa Insurance Division released a bulletin on February 24 to provide guidance for the extension of transitional policies in Iowa.

Illinois

We are waiting on guidance from the Illinois Department of Insurance and will send an update as soon as we have Illinois-specific information.
