Extension of Transitional Plans

We are extending our Illinois Individual and Small Group transitional plans through 2020 after the Illinois Department of Insurance released a bulletin on March 28 to provide guidance for the extension of transitional policies in Illinois.

This comes after recent federal guidance that permits states to extend transitional policies for Individual and Small Group health insurance plans to policy years beginning on or before October 1, 2019, provided that all such coverage comes into compliance by January 1, 2020.

We are still considering whether we will extend Iowa Small Group transitional plans for 2020. Please watch your email for updates, and contact your client consultant with any questions.
