Reid Health Alliance Medicare Star Ratings for 2018

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released its 2018 Medicare Star Ratings this week, and we earned 4 stars on a 5-star scale for our Reid Health Alliance Medicare plans. View the 2018 Star Ratings flier.

We will add the new 2018 Star Ratings flier to new sales kit orders, but you will need to replace them in any kits you already have. You can print them on a black-and-white printer. Please replace in kits by October 31.

We know this is a departure from our past ratings in the Midwest, but this doesn’t mean that our commitment to quality has declined. Keeping a high star rating is getting tougher. CMS sets targets for each of the 48 measures that go into star ratings, and many of the targets were significantly raised this year. Some targets were raised by as much as 11 percentage points.

We take this challenge seriously, and have already taken steps to redouble our efforts to get to a 5-star rating. For example, we are introducing a wellness rewards program to ensure more of our members receive the preventive services and screenings so important to maintaining health. And we are putting in place the oversight needed to monitor the effectiveness of our interventions and allow quicker intervention when needed. We have also created structured forums for provider collaboration on quality efforts, made possible by being part of a fully integrated health care system and our strong relationship with Reid Health. Regardless of stars or scores, our overall goal is better health outcomes for the people we serve and working in partnership with their health care providers to achieve that goal.
